Housekeeper

Job Summary:

• Maintain the cleanliness of the office premises and project sites at events by performing various cleaning/maintenance duties.

• Responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linens for the office and during events. Responsible for handling clerical tasks in the office and during events

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, polish, and do other forms of cleaning of the premises, including the furniture, floors, stairways, and corridors to ensure cleanliness.

• Wash the windows, inside and out.

• Operate heavy cleaning equipment such as scrubbing machines, etc.

• Apply the appropriate materials, products, and methods to each cleaning task, while adhering to the manufacturers’ directions and fire safety procedures and regulations.

• Perform routine checks and maintenance of the premises and cleaning equipment.

• Check the security system of the building; including ensuring all windows and doors are locked and secure at the end of each day.

• Identify cleaning problems and recommending appropriate remedies.

• Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.

• Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies.

• Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.

• Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace them when appropriate.

• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety.

• Wash, wipe, sort, stack, and store all cleaned items in an organised and safe manner.

• If any breakages or chipped items are found, then remove them from circulation and update the breakage and inventory register.

• Clean, sanitise, and close worktops/workstations.

• Clean and maintain floors and walls in the kitchen and dishwashing area by following standard procedures.

• Collect and remove trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.

• Carry out general cleaning in the kitchen as directed including sweeping, mopping up, washing up, and emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers.

• Always maintain and clean and safe work environment.

• Undertaking any necessary duties to ensure a first-class service is provided always.

• Being an ambassador for the business always.

Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required:

• GCE or general education degree; or two year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to perform cleaning duties, which may entail moving and lifting merchandise and materials.

• Ability to work varied hours/days, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures; knowledge of the materials, supplies, and equipment utilised in cleaning activities.

Location:

• Lagos, Nigeria; including other locations as required.

Office Hours:

• 06.30 to 17.00 Mondays to Fridays. Weekends as required
